Principal owner Robert Verrone drew from his 23 years’ experience in the commercial real estate industry to found Iron Hound in 2009. His goal: to answer the changing needs of under-served commercial real estate owners in a down economy. Robert began his career at Bear Stearns, where he spent several years in the Commercial Real Estate Group. In 2002, he went on to develop and manage Wachovia’s Large Loan Group, which he grew to over $20 billion in loan originations by 2007. Prior to founding Iron Hound, Robert also served as Co-Head of Wachovia’s Real Estate Group, where he was responsible for managing approximately 600 employees and oversaw a debt portfolio valued in excess of $80 billion. Robert received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Moravian College.
